Dining Chairs Guide

Dining chairs come in different colors, materials and configurations. It is better to buy dining chairs in a set with a table to avoid mismatching the materials and colors. The most common dining chairs are made from wood with some kind of insert on the seat itself and the back. Modern styled chairs that are popular right now have introduced metal legs and frames into the market, ranging from brushed to chrome finishes. This gives you a very futuristic, fast paced look while the wooden frames make the room look softer and warmer. Dining chairs come with or without chairs, so make sure to figure out which type do you prefer before buying them. Remember that chairs with arms take up more space and are not as versatile, but can be more comfortable then chairs without arms. Make sure that the cushion is firm or soft enough before purchasing.

The inserts are typically leather or fabric. With modern technology either choice is great, but leather is easier to clean from stains unlike fabric which requires a bit more care to avoid stains and dark spots. However while fabric is almost impossible to scratch up, leather is very prone to that and is a poor choice if you have pets with claws in your house. If scratches and stains do not worry you it is better that you sit on a couple chairs with these materials and figure out which one you would like better. Remember that the lighter your inserts are, the harder it is to clean them.

In case you do get your fabric or leather inserts dirty we have compiled some quick tips for cleaning them.
Leather is a very strong material, and as long as you take care of it, it will last you a long time and will maintain the fresh look it had when you first bought it.

-Make sure you position your leather furniture away from windows, so that it does not spend much time under the sun. That will prolong its life and avoid fading and/or cracking.
-Keep your leather furniture more than a foot away from any heat sources.
-Clean any spills as soon as possible and avoid brushing or rubbing on the surface
When trying to keep fabric clean, the main thing is to figure out what kind of fabric it is and find out what is the cleaning code for it. There are four different codes (WS, X, W and S):

W: water based cleaning agent only
S: dry (water-free) cleaning agent only
WS: either one of water or dry cleaning agents can be used
X: no cleaning agents can be used, brushing and/or vacuuming are the only options

General tip for either material:
-Do not put any newspapers or magazines on the seat, as the ink will rub onto them and will be difficult to get rid off.
