Bed Styles Guide

While platform beds imply that they are modern, regular beds are very diverse and have many different styles. We offer modern, classic, traditional and Victorian styles that will complement your bedroom the right way. Read the following breakdown to help you get a grasp on which style will be right for you.

Modern style (or contemporary) is the most popular right now, as more people are starting to move away from the retro style which was popular a couple years ago. Contemporary style of beds combines the functionality of traditional beds with smooth lines and modern materials. The most popular materials are metal for the general frame and inserts of leather, fabric, stone or even Swarovski crystals. Modern beds are very versatile in terms of fitting into styles and will go well everywhere including being an outlier in a retro bedroom. Most modern beds usually look better in bedrooms with lighter colors.

Traditional beds are the typical beds that you would imagine in a warm, cozy bedroom. They are usually made from woods and typically use the same materials as the classic beds without the over the top designs and ornaments. It usually fits in well with darker rooms with a bit of a modern touch. The lines are usually more conservative and simple then other styles

Classic beds are the most massive beds that look great in big, dark and retro looking rooms. The headrests are usually heavily decorated with exquisite ornaments and curvy designs. Darker woods are usually used along with dark fabric to contrast with the wood. Most classic beds have very complicated lines and heavily rely on exquisite designs and massive proportions. These beds are not for a small room with light colored walls because it will look too out of place there.

Victorian style is the closest one to classic, but a lot of different materials are used when putting a bed together. There are many Victorian bed sets that use metal, but have similar curvy lines and interesting designs to classic beds. These beds look the best in large rooms with light colored walls. Dark metals and thin rails will contrast the background very well while offering a lot of flexibility. Not all Victorian beds are made from metal and many beds are made from dark woods with canopy stands and other interesting extensions to the frame.
